This year's theme for the Faire will be Shakespeare's Muse. Camp Richardson will be transformed to a delightful Elizabethan town with over 900 costumed entertainers and 100 shopkeepers and artisans. The Faire will feature more than six stages of continuous entertainment, Queen Elizabeth's court, Shakespearian plays and vignettes, expertly staged battle scenes and theatrical performances, lively crafts marketplace, storytelling for children and adults, dancing, archery tournaments and much more. There will be merchants selling a wide array of arts and craft including one of a kind jewelry items, woodcrafts, artwork, ceramics, clothing, hats, accessories and historic weapons. The Tempest

The D.G. Menchetti Young Shakespeare Program is a collaboration between the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and Nevada Shakespeare Company. It is presented FREE for kids and their chaperones.
The sorcerer and one-time Duke of Milan, Prospero, and his daughter, Miranda, have been trapped on a tropical island for 12 years. Their only companions are a Monster called Caliban, son of the Witch, who used to rule the Island and Ariel, a spirit loyal and known only to Prospero. As fate would have it, those who betrayed Prospero are brought within the reaches of his powers. His enemies find themselves at the mercy of a great storm and are cast upon the Island. With Magical Spirits, Monsters and Pirates, the Young Shakespeare production of The Tempest promises to be a fun, interactive show for the entire family.

Sunday afternoon of each Gatsby Festival the Tahoe Heritage Foundation holds the annual Gatsby Tea. Volunteers decorate and host tea tables and serve Gatsby era sweets and savories. The highlight of the afternoon is the fashion show of vintage clothing; themes have ranged from "pack for a cruise" to "summer at the lake" to "wedding trouseau". The event is open to the public, however tickets for the tea are available through the Tahoe Herritage Foundation and generally sell out early.

15th Annual Valhalla Holiday Faire

The magnificant Valhalla Grand Hall, of the vintage 1924 'Heller Estate', listed on the 'National Historic Register of Historic Places', hosts the 15th annual Valhalla Holiday Faire. Featuring a 40' high spectacular natural stone fireplace, the Grand Hall will be decorated in a festive Holiday mode. Twenty - twenty five local vendors and artists will be offering a varied assortment of hand-made and other special items for purchase. Father Christmas comes to visit as local school choirs and other musical groups perform through out the two day Holiday Festival. Raffle tickets for raffle packages of items donated by the vendors will be available as well as hot mulled wine, hot cider, water, sodas and cookies will be available for purchase.
