Enter The Guardsman Auditions

Audition Notice: Enter the Guardsman (musical)
Dates: April 26 (please hold April 27 for possible call-backs)
Time: 6pm-8pm
Location: South Tahoe High School TADA Theatre
Prepare: 36 bars of a classic musical song. You may sing acapella or feel free to bring digital music. We will be doing cold readings from the script.
Description of the musical:
After six months of marriage the bloom is off the rose for the famous newlyweds. “She gazes out the window and she plays Chopin,” agonizes the Actor.” But then—cue the anonymous roses, the amorous letters and enter the Guardsman—her secret fantasy, his greatest fear. Enter the Guardsman is an intimate and classic-style musical about sex, marriage, adultery, role playing, truth-telling and keeping your performance fresh in the long run.
As seen through the eyes of a theatre ghost, the action takes place in the timeless world of “back stage”. The score is evocative of turn of the century Vienna; tuneful, romantic and waltz filled, recalling a theater of wit, style, sophistication and romance. But beneath the facade the play is an exploration of marriage and the very modern dilemma of maintaining the passion within the monogamous.

Roles: Auditioning for all roles. We noted where we are open to alternate casting.

Actress: Female, Lead, Soprano (age 30-40)
Playwright: Male, Lead, Baritone (age 40-60)
Assistant Stage Manager: Male or Female Supporting, Baritone or octave higher (age 20+ any age)
Wigs Master: Male or Female Supporting, Tenor or octave higher (age 20+ any age)
Wardrobe Mistress: Female Supporting, Soprano (age 20-30, or any age)
Dresser: Female Supporting, Mezzo-Soprano (age 40-60)
